Strategy Analyst

Job Summary

Supports the strategic planning process across the health system utilizing data analysis and secondary research. Works collaboratively in a team-based environment, serves as analytics lead in the organizational climate assessment (OCA), business planning, and strategy planning. Utilizes external market data and helps quantify current offerings and future opportunities. Collaborates with IT partners and the Business Intelligence team to build dashboards and proactively report on outcomes and trends.

Job Specific Duties

  • Performs market analytics on market share and trends, assists with the development and monitoring of business plans, operational improvement initiatives, strategic planning, and serves as an Sg2 super user. 
  • Gathers and analyzes data to assist in the creation of documents, initiatives, strategies and metrics, and provides recommendations for project support. 
  • Responsible for data mining, including collecting and synthesizing information from a variety of sources, routine ad hoc reporting, interpreting findings, and tracking performance. 
  • Develops and delivers professional presentations for senior leadership and/or department leaders to inform in strategic decision making.
  • Analyzes and tracks process improvement projects and other strategic initiatives. 
  • Develops, maintains, and updates systems and databases to inform effective decision making.
  • Maintains data accuracy, analytic integrity, and reporting. 

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Health Services Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in a strategy or business development role in a healthcare environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Masters or MBA is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and able to translate complex issues into less complex concepts.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate with others.
  • Strong financial and statistical reporting skills; ability to analyze data and financial reports.
  • Skill in the use of complex mathematical and statistical techniques to assess financial and statistical scenarios.
